According to the Active class action lawsuit, Active.com is the only way to register for certain competitive races. Per the plaintiff she visited the site to register for a race, in order to complete the registration she was asked for a credit card.
The plaintiff claims Active.com used her credit card to enroll her on a free trial of their Active Advantage program without her authorization. This action resulted in charges of $59.99 for a service she dis not request nor agreed to
The Active Network denies the allegations but agreed to settle the class action lawsuit to avoid the cost and uncertainty of ongoing litigation.
