The Settlement Class includes the following persons: All persons who purchased one or more items from a T.J. Maxx, Marshalls, or HomeGoods store in California between July 17, 2011 and December 6, 2017 (the “Class Period”), with a TJX price tag that included a Compare At price, and who have not received a refund or credit for all of their purchases.

Case Summary

The lawsuit alleges that TJX engaged in false or misleading price comparison advertising through the Compare At prices on TJX price tags in its California stores between July 17, 2011, and December 6, 2017 in violation of various California laws that prohibit false advertising and unfair competition. TJX denies: (1) that it used false or misleading price comparison advertising; (2) that it has done anything wrong; and (3) that the Plaintiffs or consumers have been harmed in any way. The Court has not decided who is right.

      Over many years I have purchased items from Marshall’s from Florissant Missouri and home goods at mid Rivers Mall way I do believe that could be Saint Charles RO Fallon Missouri I even had a gift card to home goods but they kept saying it was no good and I know my sister bought it for me but then you’re too embarrassed to say anything so I just paid cash for things I have bought glasses there I bought a yard statue I have purchased clothes I know I have probably spent probably between six and 800 Dollars at the stores I don’t keep my receipts over the years I know that’s bad are usually only keep them for one year and then when I do taxes I get rid of them but I thought I would fill this out anyway thank you so much

      We love Marshalls too and purchase a ton of things from there. You don’t need to worry about this settlement as you don’t qualify. It is a California only settlement as disclosed in the title.

    The way I read it is that this settlement is for purchases made in CA and not necessarily by California residents.

    I believe these checks will be issued soon

    enefits will be distributed to Class Members after the Court grants “final approval” of the Settlement and after any appeals are resolved. The Court granted final approval of the Settlement on May 14, 2018.
