In March 2016, 21st Century Oncology disclosed that around October 3, 2015, its systems had been breached by an unauthorized party that potentially accessed the personally identifiable as well as confidential health information of about 2.2 million patients of 21st Century Oncology, including their names, Social Security numbers, doctors’ names, medical diagnoses and treatments, as well as insurance information. Plaintiffs claim that 21st Century Oncology did not sufficiently protect such personal and health information and that they were consequently injured.
