Case Name

Adhoot v. Babolat VS North America Inc. & Clark v. Babolat VS North America Inc,
CV13-02823 GAF (VBKx) & Case No. CV13-7898 GAF (VBKx)
District Court for the Central District of California

Case Summary

This settlement will resolve two lawsuits where the plaintiffs allege that Babolat engaged in false advertisement by the falsely communicating the qualities of some of their tennis racquets. According to settlement documents the manufacturer would make consumers believe that the equipment they purchased was the same as the one endorsed by players, furthermore the manufacturer claimed that the equipment contained tungsten when in fact it did not

Babolat denies wrongdoing but has agreed to settle to avoid litigation.

Is this settlement available to Canadians? (The suit does say “Babolat vs. North American Inc.”)

    Hi Max,
In taking a quick look at the long notice I don’t see a geographical limitation but please contact the class action administrator at 1-888- 538-5790 to confirm.

  13. Kevin L. Smith says:

If you are sent the information by mail, and it was postmarked 3/11/2015, will the claim be accepted? I attempted to finalize the Claim Form at 10:00 PM. When I tried to send it to you, it would not go through (can I fax it to you?). Was the Claim Form time frame in accordance with eastern time? I happen to live in southern California.

    Hi Kevin,
Please contact the administrator at Babolat Settlement Claims Administrator

  14. Joshua Calloway says:

I am attempting to submit a claim. I have contacted the Babolat Settlement Claims Administrator, and they say that I will need to get approval from either the class attorneys or the defense attorneys to be included in the claim.

I have 5 babalot racquets with receipts. I did not receive my November/December tennis magazine issue and was only made aware of the class action settlement through my tennis partner a few days ago.

Joshua, contact the Babolat class action administrator with your question. You can reach them at Babolat Settlement Claims Administrator

  15. Joshua Calloway says:

I called the number 1-888-538-5790. That line is totally automated and you cannot submit a claim through that number.

Again, I’d like to submit my claim for this settlement. There was not adequate notice given to babalot racquet purchasers. I didn’t receive the Nov. Tennis magazine.

  16. nick says:

i also didn’t hear about this until this past wednesday, definitely not enough time to let people know about this!

  17. Kartik says:

Why is the link to the claim form not working??

    Hi Kartik

  18. William Bray says:

I have not been able to get the required claim form during the period requested. Each time I have tried to get said claim form, it would show an error on the screen. I have purchased five Babolat rackets listed in the class action, during the time period in question. Is there any way I can be added to this claim? Please let me know what I need to do to follow up on this matter. Thank you for your consideration.

    ADMIN-Hi William,
The deadline for this class action was 3/11/2015

  19. William Bray says:

Will that’s too bad. Just how did the word get out to let people know? It was just by luck that I even got word of the class action. Kinda strange don’t you think. I guess this is just more money in the Admin’s pocket. Good job, you should be working for Babalot. Or, maybe you are:D

  20. BOB says:

    ADMIN-Hi Bob,
Contact the administrator directly to get more information.

  21. Adrian says:

When are we going to receive the checks if you fill out the forms correctly?

    ADMIN- Hi Adrian,
I encourage you to contact the class action administrator for Babolat to submit your inquiry.

  22. Mary Ann Priore says:

Please send me a claim form to complete. I only found out about this settlement today, 4/8/2015 and notice that the deadline has already passed! Can we still submit a claim?

    ADMIN-Hi Mary,
This class action settlement has expired. You may no longer submit claims.

  23. DAVID says:

Is there an email address for the Babolat Settlement Claims Administrator?

  24. Jill says:

On Monday, a California federal judge granted final approval to a $4.5 million class action settlement over allegations tennis

  25. Anthoney says:

I received A LETTER from the administrator that read the final hearing was on 4-6-215. The court now has a 30 day waiting period before granting the order to distribute funds. It goes on to say if it is granted the approval the checks will be mailed within 60 days. In other words we are looking @ July before seeing checks.

  26. Timothy says:

When will the settlement be distributed among Floridians?

    ADMIN-Hi Timothy,
The final approval for this settlement took place on April 7, 2015. Most likely you will get your check in the next few months.

  27. Ali says:

I filed claim long time back, still i have not received any check or response from Bobolat. When would i get my check.

  28. ali says:

I submitted claim long time, but never got to hear, when will I get my check.

  29. alex says:

I also sent and filed the claim in Mid march 2015.
but until now, I have not received anything, nor confirmation, zip.
so, I emailed to Babolat directly and they advised me to call and contact the laywer group.
So, I called the number, and the number is invalid.
whenever I call, it just gets hung up automatically.

    everything is total scam!!!

  30. kendj says:

I had submitted my claim form awhile back and also have heard that the settlement already done. I do not know how long would it take to receive the settlement and hope it’d come true.

  31. Mary says:

I have been trying to go on the website to get status of this class action and it is saying error. Would anybody know the status?

  32. Roberto says:

I submitted a claim form also and have not heard back from anybody. I’ve checked the website it says it does not exist and I called the phone number and it’s just a recording. Is there any way to check my status?

    ADMIN-Hi Roberto,
Contact class counsel. If you scroll up you should find the info in one of the comments.

  33. Michael says:

submitted x5 and not a peep. I think time for a letter to court and judge.

  34. Lisa says:

Sounds like a lot of stalling and controversy surrounding this particular claim. Babolat seems to not want to pay the claims as the court ordered. ITS JULY… Where is the check. How rude is that comment above? Did that really need to be said about how many times someone submitted the claim. If Babolat was doing what they are supposed to there wouldn’t have been a claim. Maybe after the first claim if they would have had a reply they wouldn’t have dome it five ore times. STILL WAITING ON MY CHECK AS WELL.

  35. ali says:

Its for sure some sort of scam, none of my friends at tennis club has received any check, and there is absolutely no communication.

  36. Angela Franckowiak says:

    is it a scam?

    ADMIN – Hi Angela,

  41. Lisa says:

  42. Changsu says:

so is it too late to claim now? July 21……dang it I had bought 6!!!

    ADMIN – Hi Chan,
Totally too late. We are so sorry.

  43. Sandra Coy says:

Hi, I was wanting to know if there is anyway to check the status of my check? I see that people began receiving them on 7/17. I live in Kentucky and have not received my payment yet.

    ADMIN – Hi Sandra,
