Class Eligibility

You are a member of the settlement if you purchased merchandise from Justice during the period from January 1, 2012 through February 28, 2015, except for those who were eligible to be Class Members in an earlier class action against Justice in Ohio.

Ohio residents who purchased merchandise from Justice stores in Ohio between July 1, 2012 and August 31, 2014 are not included in this settlement because they were eligible to participate in an earlier settlement in the case titled Perez v. Tween Brands, Inc., No. 14-CV-001119, Court of Common Pleas, Lake County, Ohio.

Estimated Amount

From $7 to $30

The amount you receive will depend on the state where you made the purchase and whether you receive a voucher or cash.

    ADMIN – HI Heather,

There is a no receipt option.

    • turtlelove says:

People please read before commenting – you don’t need a receipt. it amazes me…………………..

      • Alicia Davis says:

It is asking me for a receipt which of course I do not have. Perhaps the state that you live in matters. I suppose I need to be weary of purchases I make in the future and keep receipts for years because a corporation may be ripping me off and I often shop with cash. At least I know to never shop at Justice or their affiliates ever again.

      • gr8bec says:

You may submit an Option 1 claim without an Access Code as long as you provide documentation that you are included in the class.

Acceptable documentation includes: a Justice receipt, credit card statement or bank statement which shows at least one Justice purchase between January 1, 2012 through February 28, 2015.

      I found bank statements

  3. Jessica guy says:

As much as my daughter loves their products, now I must watch what I buy

  4. beak says:

This requires that you have an access code proving you are part of the class action OR a receipt from Justice.

    ADMIN – Hi Beak,

Or a credit card statement or bank statement that proves you made a purchase.

I’m always buying things throughout the years for my granddaughter & many receipts have been saved as well as I have the bank record since most of them were bought with my Bank Card.

  19. Lisa wallace says:

So how do I file a claim?

    ADMIN – Hi Lisa,

You file a claim by clicking on the orange link that reads “claim form” completing the information requested and clicking submit.

  20. Brenda G. says:

I selected the “no receipt” option for a cash refund and was STILL ASKED TO PROVIDE A COPY OF THE RECEIPT OR A COPY OF THE BANK STATEMENT showing I made a purchase!!! I get the same request when I select the “no receipt” voucher option!!! CLEARLY this was set up this way on the claim form, so you cannot proceed without this information. THE ADMINISTRATOR NEEDS TO FIX THIS!!!!!

    ADMIN – Hi Brenda,

I encourage you to contact the administrator using the info we provided.

I have shopped alot at Justice over the past 3 years for my daughter so do I need to just submit 1 claim or one for every purchase that I made?

    ADMIN – Hi Heather,

It is one claim per person not one claim per purchase.

  30. Lisa Butler says:

Why didn’t I get a class action form in the mail. This is the only thing that my daughter wears. It is obvious that I have made thousands of dollars in purchases and have been cheated. I have a justice credit card. When looking online the statements are not available past 2015. Confused on how to get the information.

    ADMIN – Hi Lisa,

Contact the credit card provider directly. They may be able to provide you with a longer history.

  31. margo neil says:

I have been shopping for my granddaughter for over 9 years.

  33. April Stein says:

If you choose Option #2 and submit proof of purchases is there a limit to the amount you are reimbursed or is it limited to the $20/$30 that option #1 allows? Thank you.

    ADMIN – Hi April,

If you submit documentation of your Justice purchases with this claim form, you can receive a cash payment of 14% of your documented purchases or a Justice voucher for 20% of your documented purchases. In order to qualify for Option 2, you must provide either (1) documentation of 6 or more Justice purchases or (2) documentation of a single Justice purchase of $105 or more.

  34. Jeanne Clemons says:

In March 2015 I spent hundreds of dollars for my grand daughter

  35. Stacy says:

Why does the attorneys get 15mil and we only get 20-30 dollars or more, along with days of sifting the years worth of receipts. Wouldn’t you think we the consumers were defrauded.

    ADMIN – HI Stacy,

The amount that attorneys receive is determined by the court and is intended to cover the expenses and risks they have incurred in pursuing the settlement. If you feel that is unfair you have the option to object and hire your own legal representation to go after the retailer on your own.

    • Just Sayin says:

They are getting most of the money because they have paid all of the costs for depositions, experts, etc. and worked for free for 2 years to get to this point.

  36. Chad says:

Have the rebates/refunds been issued? My parents and I both submitted claims forms and have note received anything yet.

    ADMIN – Hi Chad,

I believe the checks were issued a long time ago

    • Tiffany says:

I have not received a check for the 14% of my receipts which is equivalent to over $500. Has anyone received anything? When I emailed with them last August, they said payments should be in March 2017.

      • Diane says:

I have not received mine either. It is to be about $215 or so. I even had receipts.

        ADMIN – Hi Diane,

From the class action settlement page:
On July 29, 2016, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania granted Final Approval to the Settlement. However, objectors subsequently appealed that decision.

The time for final resolution of the appeal is uncertain. We will continue to advise as matters develop. Class Counsel desire to pay out the Settlement to Class Members as soon as possible, and will take every step to do so if and when the appeals process is resolved in favor of the Settlement. Once appeals are resolved, and assuming the court upholds the settlement, payments/vouchers will promptly be issued to Settlement Class Members with valid claims.

  37. Elizabeth Reinhardt says:

My two daughters & I submitted a claim and got claim numbers. We have not received any checks or vouchers. Have they been sent out yet? If so how do we go about getting ours. Rhanks

    ADMIN – Hi Elizabeth,

Per the settlement page this is currently under appeals.

  38. Cynthia wiegand says:

I made a claim on time and as of today, 4/25/2017, haven’t heard a peep. Anyone receive anything???

    • Jenny Sholer says:

I’m waiting on a large payment as well, but according to the “official settlement webpage”, the settlement is on appeal. No payments can be made until the appeal is heard and a final decision is made by the court.

    • Elizabeth Hambrick says:

I was wondering what was going on myself, filed So long ago and have heard or recieved nada

  39. Erika says:

It’s now May and I submitted all documentation/receipts at the appropriate time and I haven’t heard anything either and you can’t find anything recent about it on the web. Seems like the whole claim was a waste of time.

  40. Jill Neuharth says:

I have a large claim as well, sent in photo copies of all my receipts and same as above, not a peep. I wish they would at least post an update.

  41. Candy Land says:

I’ve been wondering if we are ever going to see the settlement money. All that work to file a claim and feel like I’m waiting forever. Figures with Justice!

  42. PS says:

I filed my claim on time and called recently to ask what the status was. I was told that because Justice is appealing the decision it will take longer. They couldn’t tell me how long or really anything else. I can’t find any updates online either. According to the claim I did, they owe me almost $700! I’m getting pretty frustrated with the not knowing. Hurry up and wait, crazy!!!

    • Gail B says:

I agree! I’m owed about $700 too. Good thing I didn’t do the voucher option, as my girls have outgrown their clothes now!

      • Dina Pandelos says:

I have a claim for around $1200 and my girls have also outgrown Justice. It’s very frustrating since it took so much time to gather the receipts. Also, they haven’t updated to even say it’s still under appeal in almost a year!

  43. Natalie Cogar says:

Wishing they would post an update. Been off work for breast cancer tx and my daughter needs clothes….frustrating.

  44. Jean says:

I tried to check the appellate docket on this case, and everything I found said the appeals were closed back in April. So what is going on??? When will we receive our settlement?

    ADMIN – Hi Jean,

    Contact the class action administrator.

  45. Nancy says:

I’m glad I opted for the cash and not the voucher, because my daughter has outgrown Justice since this whole thing started!

  46. KELLEE says:

    ADMIN – Hi Kellee,

    The settlement is under appeals.

  47. Angela Drew says:

I submitted my claim before the very first deadline and sent copies of bank statements, receipts etc. still have not heard anything, not a peep. Can someone at least tell us when they are going to start mailing out vouchers. Luckily I can use it for my granddaughter because my daughter has outgrown their clothing styles since I started all this.

    ADMIN – Hi Angela,

I have no updates at the time.

  48. Jacqualyn H Wood says:

I submitted a claim and have receipts to over a $1000.00 in merchandise. No response or payout in Massachusetts’s.

    ADMIN – Hi Jacquelyn,

    Not paid yet

  49. Becky Admire says:

I sent my claim in along time ago was only able to track the things I had used my credit card on . when I asked about the cash transactions they should be able to look up after all they take your phone # and email at every transaction and of coarse they didn’t want to help with that .. Just saying not sure I would ever shop there again!

  50. Cheryl says:

Somebody told me recently that this was a hoax. I hope not since I submitted all of the paperwork with bank statements and credit card receipts.

    ADMIN – Hi Cheryl,

That somebody is clueless. You can access court documents that will allow you to confirm the validity of this particular class action settlement.

  51. Kelly says:

After much research; I spoke with the lead attorney, Kevin Raphael (Phone (215) 988-1442) regarding the finalization of the case. I was informed checks/vouchers should be issued/mailed by the end of September 2017. FINALLY! I wonder why this communication board has not released this information to everyone; they knew about this information in July. The case number is 15CV724 and it was filed with the Federal Court of Eastern District of Pennsylvania.

  52. Joyce says:

I got a check for $7.00 and I have not filed a claim. I just don’t know if this is a scam and when I cash it they will have my information or not. So I am not cashing it. Not worth the chance for $7.00.

    ADMIN – Hi Joyce,

If they had you on record as a class member they issued the check automatically. This often happens when you have a branded credit card or a loyalty card.

  53. Donna says:

I got my $7 check in the mail today!

  54. Bruce says:

I received my $20 check today!

  55. Carolee Holbrook says:

Surprised to find a check today in my mail from this lawsuit settlement. A whole, big $13! But I guess that’s not bad since I never produced any receipts. Now I’m waiting on my settlement involving the milk lawsuit.

    ADMIN – Hi Carolee,

Hopefully you will get your $6 soon

  56. Stephanie says:

I received my check last Friday. $1,242.00.

  57. Williams says:

It took a LONG time, but I received my $20-check on 9/25/2017. Very grateful it finally came!

  58. JB says:

I just found a $30 voucher in my email…. i sent in thousands of dollars in bank statements of purchases made at justice in the time frame. my packet was a book! imagine my shock with this 30.00. ive called them with my complaint and they are “looking into it”. i will follow up, my account was noted as information was not sufficient, yet they were copies directly from the bank and cc statements. you might want to pay close attention if you expect a large sum back.

  59. C. Brooks says:

I received a voucher for $500 off my purchase today. Couldn’t believe it!

  60. C Davis says:

I received a voucher for $226.39, I thought we were supposed to be refunded money. I had over $1100.00 in receipts.

    ADMIN – Hi C,

If you are certain you asked for cash instead of a voucher consider reaching out to the class action admin.

  61. EBreaton says:

I received my voucher for $600.00. I am furious because it is a one-time use in-store only voucher. There is no way I am going to one store to buy $600 worth of items at once. Had I known those were the terms of the voucher I would have declined it. Anyone else mad about this?

    ADMIN – Hi E,

Being mad is not going to fix a thing. Sell your voucher or buy some stuff for charity. Think about all the people in Houston, Puerto Rico and Napa that would appreciate a few new clothes for their kiddos.

  62. Heather Sullivan says:

I just received my $30 voucher, and says it’s good till Oct 16th, that’s today! The mail came at 4pm, even if I left now I wouldn’t make it!!! ?

    ADMIN – Hi Heather,

    Of what year?

  63. D says:

    Hi everyone,

    Received five (5) $30 vouchers.

How many are typically received by others?

    ADMIN – Hi D,

The number of vouchers depends on the amount of money you spent. There is no such thing as typical.

  64. L Po says:

I had the same thing happen to me as Heather Sulllivan did. There was not enough time to even make the purchase.. So mad..

    ADMIN – Hi L,

How about you carefully read the date? It is 2018

  65. Ava says:

I received a voucher but it expired within 3 days of receipt (yes, 2017, I checked). I was working and wasn’t able to go to the store until the fourth day. I explained to the clerk that I had just received the coupon but she said the expiration date was firm and she took the voucher from me. I am seeing comments all over the web that this similar situation is happening to many customers. I wrote in to the class action email requesting another certificate. In my opinion, they must know that many of us will have coupons that expire on the day or within days of issue – this is not fair

    ADMIN – Hi Ava,

It is my understanding that all coupons were printed from the same machine with the same expiration date. Also the standard operational procedure for stores is to let you have a coupon if it is not usable. The admin gains nothing by placing a date-sensitive date. All the comments you have seen are from individuals that are having a hard time reading a complete date.

  66. Anita Mule says:

I never heard of them and I got a $30.00 off coupon. This is useless. I can get money-off coupons from any store. It is just a sales gimmick.

    ADMIN – Hi Anita,

If you received a coupon in your name and you never had any relationship with the company you may want to check your credit. It is entirely possible that someone is using your identity and they did some shopping at Justice. This “coupon” is not a gimmick, it is compensation for those that purchased stuff thinking it was on sale when it was always the same price.

  67. J Edmisten says:

I shop there often and did not receive a voucher at all. 🙁
I’m guessing there is nothing I can do about this?

    ADMIN – Hi J,

Nothing at all. You needed to file before the deadline. You may want to sign up for our newsletter and follow us on Facebook so this won’t happen to you again.

    • J Edmisten says:

It’s weird because I know several people that never filed anything and still received a voucher. Huh!?!?

      ADMIN – Hi J,

Those people had a store credit card or a loyalty card that allowed the admin to verify their transactions.

  68. Jacqlyn Davis says:

I filed a claim and haven’t received anything as of yet. Co-workers and a family member have all received their voucher postcard. I called to check the status today as was told that I should receive three vouchers, and if I hadn’t heard anything by mid November to call back.

  69. Kateri Knosp says:

I still havent received anything from Justice and both my sister in law and mother in law have received theirs over a month ago. I have a Justice credit card, used it frequently, and I still havent heard anything from them. I filed a claim with them as well. NADA.

    ADMIN – Hi Kateri,

You better hurry and contact the admin before they fully close the settlement.

  70. Patricia Campbell says:

I received two vouchers for $30 a piece and misplaced them. Can you resend them?

    ADMIN – Hi Patricia,

I can’t as I am not the class action administrator. Their contact info is listed above but I doubt they can help you. I don’t think there is a way to reissue. You lost them the same way you would have misplaced cash.

  71. Krsti says:

I tried to use my vouchers yesterday and was told them I could not use them with the current “sales proces” but that the prices were great and it would be cheaper to just take the sales price, but that I could use the vouchers on the original price. Well good grief, at Justice, who ever knows the original price? I refused to play their game, put everything back on the racks, tore up my vouchers and told them I would not be back. I guess the joke is on me. I cut my nose to spite my face, as my mom used to say. The jacket I wanted to buy was hanging on a 30% off rack and had a sticker covering the original printed price on the tag, leading me to believe it was truly on sale. It showed 24.99. My mistake was assuming the sticker price was the sale price. This morning, out of curiosity, I looked online and found that not only is everything in he store up to 50% off, the jacket was originally priced 24.99 and was on sale for 17.49. So of course they wanted me to pay the 17.49 out of my pocket. I wish I had asked what the original price was before tearing my card up. I tried to look under the sticker but of course couldn’t because it tore when I tried to peel the sticker back. I know I should have asked for a manager, but I was so angry, and I don’t get angry easily. It just made me mad because the voucher was supposed to be like an apology for not treating the customer right, and it just flew in my face how nothing had changed at all. Just another instance of unethical, misleading business practices that is the standard for Justice. Funny name. My husband said I should call them Injustice. Why even try to do business there anymore? They obviously haven’t changed.

  72. Cheryl says:

I finally received vouchers. I specifically indicated that I wanted a check as both of my girl have outgrown shopping at Justice. I sent an email and was told I have the vouchers, case closed!!! I have about $155.00 that cannot be spent on sale items or specific items, and have girls that are too old to wear their clothing. I’ve been scammed again.

    ADMIN – Hi Cheryl,

If you kept a copy of your claim as submitted you should be able to contest the vouchers. I always take a screenshot of all my claim forms.

  73. Rhonda Barreras says:

I submitted claim but never received voucher. Very sad.

    ADMIN – Hi Rhonda,

Too late to do something about it. It is best to escalate immediately after the settlement has been paid.

  74. Ann says:

I was excited to use my voucher for back to school clothes before it expired. But the store employee told me it was not valid and wouldn’t accept it. I have not used it yet and it has not expired. I had non-sale items so why didn’t it work????? The employee could care less and didn’t want to talk to me about it. They could at least have better customer service over something they did dishonestly in the first place!

    ADMIN – Hi Ann,

Please reach out to the class action administrator. We are simply an online publication and not directly in charge of this settlement.

  75. Caridad and Jennifer Kerner says:

I never received anything from this lawsuit and I spent a fortune on their cloths for my daughter and grand daughter. Were is my refund or my credit vouchers.

    • Angelica (Admin) says:

Sorry, but there’s been a misunderstanding.  Please note that we ( are *not* the Settlement Administrator of this case. We only post opportunities for potential Class Members of various settlements on this website. If you want to file a claim, please follow the claims link above. Please also check the settlement website for any updates on the issue moving forward, and/or contact the Settlement Administrator directly, if you haven’t already done so.
