Case Name: Baghdasarian, et al. v. Medela, Inc., et al., Los Angeles Superior Court, Case No. BC486632
Case Summary:

The plaintiffs alleged Medela falsely advertised it’s breastmilk bottles as being freezer safe, when the bottles actually became brittle when frozen and easily broke. Medela denies the allegation and the case was settled before it could be decided by a judge or jury.

We are appalled by the use of vouchers instead of a cash settlement for this settlement. Because of the timelines involved, many of the class members will have no use for vouchers. For example if you had your last child in 2008, what would you want with a voucher for more Medela products. Even if you did need to by more breast feeding bottles, would you first choice be the company that sold you a defective product! Most of these vouchers are going to end up discarded or on EBay.

The plaintiffs attorneys and the court were not looking out for the settlement class when they approved this nonsense. If I were a class member, I would write a letter to the court voicing my disapproval.
