You are a class member if you are an individuals or entities who, on or after May 18, 2007 through the date of final approval order, received a telemarketing call made by a Monitronics Authorized Dealer, or an Authorized Dealer’s lead generator or subdealer: (a) to a cellular telephone number through the use of an automatic telephone dialing system or an artificial or pre-recorded voice, or (b) to a residential telephone number through the use of an artificial or pre-recorded voice, or (c) to a cellular or residential number registered on the national Do Not Call Registry more than once within any twelve-month period.

    I have been constantly hounded by toll free as well as local calls from a local number, Claiming that I owe money to some corp., or educational system even after I have consolidated my student loans and working with a litigate company. I have received threats, saying ” good luck in court” ; I have even been threatened to be dragged out of my own house if I didn’t agree to certain terms and complied to some kind of payments. When I call them back the phone no longer works or get the run around and wont be disclosed of any information as to what it pertains to. When I do get an answer alot of red flags go off, they would give me the wrong ytd, financial institution, as well as my name misspelled. This has been going on for a long time now and it has literally put alot of mental and emotional stress on me and I’m on disability for mental disorders so once you get me upset it takes alot from others to calm me down they have even gone as far as to threatening to garnish my ssi/ssdi income. Is that even legal??? What can I do to get these calls to stop??? And finally when I request this so called paperwork they have for me I request a copy to be mailed yet nothing comes in then more calls comes flooding in….. It ruins my day and i cant be productive or focus on my daily scheduled regimine. So where do I go from here cause I have 1 800 #s out the wahzoo as well as unknown local calls claiming and threatening to take me to court. PLEASE I NEED HELP.

    I got these calls too. I thought it was a scam so I hung up. They were relentless. Now how about getting rid of the smoke detector and the people who keep telling me my computer is calling them Microsoft and they need to fix it.

    I keep receiving phone calls at my business my personal am I sell phones from a Robo call for google ads I get at least 2 to 3 phone calls a day I asked him to take me off of their list but they keep calling is there any repercussions for this

      How to know the unknown. That is a good question. If you recall having a call from Monitronics from a particular area code look at your phone history and include that phone # in your claim

    I have been woken up many times while taking a nap. These calls are so annoying and seem to come at the worse times like having dinner, taking a shower, napping and when it’s difficult getting to the phone. Years ago such calls never were allowed. We need to get back to a peaceful existence with no annoying calls.

    Today I received a notice inviting claims, addressed to my father in Pennsylvania a few weeks after he died. I am his executrix and am currently working on settling his estate. How complicated would it be for me to (a) submit a claim on behalf of his estate, and (b) arrange for his estate (or heirs?) to receive the payment? Would this have to be done through probate court? Also, how likely is it that individual payouts could be much higher than estimated (asking because the estimated amount is not worth extra effort)?

    Contact the class action administrator. You need to prove that you are in fact in charge of the estate. It does require a few hours of extra work but I really can’t tell you if it is worth your time or not. It all depends on the value of your time.

    I mailed the card back in today with two numbers that match the calls your searching for. Also I filed online but different numbers. Wil the courts call me to verify this? I had a app called Mr. Number because I was receiving so any calls. Do I need to start all over?

    Ppl please. The admin got our numbers because we reported the call to the Public Service Commission. That’s their job! Recently I commented that I wonder if reporting to the PSC did any good. See? It did. Also I get a long spate of calls and once I start reporting they go completely away for 6-10 months.
    Still idk how the companies that call about my credit card (saying there’s nothing wrong with it but pls talk to us)

    My assumption is that since not everyone in the USA got the settlement notice cards in the mail, those of us who did were sent them for a reason. My problem is I’ve had several phones/number since 2007, there’s no way to look for any calls from 11 years ago.

    I have been getting a lot of robotic calls and 1800/ 1888/ and local calls as well saying they will take me to court not only did I put them on the no call list they find a way to get around the no call list the theats are not good they have hit my son’s phon and my mom’s phone to irs calls too not a good thing the threats of putting me or my family in jail

    Why is there never a list of the offending phone numbers that the calls came from?
    How are we supposed to know if we received a call from this specific company when just the phone number comes up? I received countless calls from unknown numbers, individual names/company names do not appear, just the phone number. I don’t recognize, I don’t answer, period.
    I would love to be part of a settlement but have no way of knowing what phone number they call from, or what call center they may use, yada yada yada…

    I operate a small business and receive so many such calls on my cell,I think that companies who would stoop to such practices should be put out of business,yet this is an era of small print and deceit at every level of politics and business which at times are difficult to tell apart.I answer most all calls as my cell is my work number.
    So please sue their arse deep enough to destroy them.

    hi was wondering it is past may 18, 2018. my question is when will we find out what we are getting in law suit. also is it only 10-15 total even if I had proof of so many #’s. please let me know what is going on, when we should hear and approx. amount. as for all the harassing these scammers are spoofing into #s and harassing me it should be a lot more for someone who on disability and the stress they cause. I get so mad. you can only block so many # and then they continue every day 10-20 times or more on home phones and cell #. Please put these people out of business. when you ask them to leave you alone , they hang up or call you names and tell you you cant stop them, They have hacked into my own home # and are calling people from that and I am getting calls from people they have called and getting yelled at. try to explain that its an app on internet and they can spoof any number without getting into any trouble. so tired of this constant harassing.

I guess they are not part of the Monitronics, but are driving me crazy. Don’t care for lawyers at all, but if they can get rich on the backs of these rotten people then ok. Go for it!!

    I too have received a postcard check for $42.35 from Monotronics. Is this a legitimate check without a signature line etc on the back for deposit or to cash it? I have called Monotronics only to find a lengthy recorded response that does not address my concern.
    I have reported more than 10 robo call numbers to the FCC in recent months. Is there a relationship to my reporting and this class action suit and rebate? The robo call number(s) involved in the suit and the company(s) is not listed or identified on the postcard check or any other information. If this began in 2007, I would not have any previous information regarding this now (2018). Could other robo call numbers be added to this suite and if not, how could another suite be initiated?

      ok that is incorrect , the check i have says that is it good until 4/2019. I tried to cash mine in dec, received it in oct. and it was denied. If it was only good for 90 days then it should not have a date of 4/2019. So These folks are working on another lawsuit if this is how they are proceeding This is fraud in the making.
