Is there an expected date for settlement funds to be sent out?
There has been no communications since judgement.

    ADMIN – Hi Dennis,

    Here is the latest:

On October 26, 2016, Judge Staton granted final approval of the class action settlement, awarded counsel attorney fees equal to 25% of the gross settlement, awarded each of the ten settling and seven non-settling plaintiffs an incentive award of between $1,580 and $7,500, and ordered Class Counsel (Zimmerman Reed) and Non-Settling Counsel (Terrence Beard and Hagens Berman) to mediation regarding the allocation of the attorney fees before November 30, 2016. Absent any appeal or further delay, the Claims Administrator will advance the first settlement payment to those claimants in the class who submitted timely claim forms approximately 15 days after the Final Effective Date of the Settlement.

Still waiting on a response as to the disposition of this class action suit. We were sent an email with fact that claim was being processed in Aug of 2016 and nothing since. Where do we stand on this?

  14. daniel snekvik says:

my 1200LRIM refrigerator has stopped cooling on 3-18-17. I have learned a new cooling unit will be $1700 plus 10 hrs of labor at $120 per hr. It would be cheaper to put in a residential refrigerator. Will they cover any of my expense. My motor home is a 2005 Allegro Bus

    ADMIN – Hi Daniel,

This class action is no longer accessible as a recourse. You will no longer be able to claim.

  15. Vicki L. Milam says:

You need to appraise the former owners of this terribly and destructive appliance of the outcome of the suit and when we can expect restitution for our losses. Please advise soon. We were timely in filing all the appropriate paperwork and forms for said I formation andDpayment.

    Vicki Milam

  16. Marda Whitney says:

I filed a early claim . I have been writing and asking when the funds are coming and they indicate each time that it will be next month. This has been going on each month since last October, 2016! I live in my RV and I’ve been without my refrigerator for almost 3 years!! The cooling unit exploded in July, 2014! I will never buy another Norcold! Now, we can’t rely on the attorneys to help us when we need it!

  17. Denise says:

Guess the longer they hold on to money more money for the attorney will acrue in interest. All about how much they make. Forget about the consumers!! This class action closed in august 2016 and still no one has received nothing!!

    ADMIN – Hi Denise,

Attorneys do not hold on to money.

  18. Bryan O'Heir says:

    It i now May 1st, 2017….

Another month on the pile, do the powers to be have any comment as to when claimants will be paid?

    ADMIN – Hi Bryan,

We have no idea. Sometimes it takes years

  19. Helen Norman says:

What happens when you lose your entire coach and all of it’s contents due to a fire caused by your Norcold refrigerator?

    ADMIN – Hi Helen,

I think the proper approach when real property is damaged in a fire is to make a claim against your insurance company. If you believe the damage is the direct result of design issues of a certain product consider hiring a lawyer.

    • Doug and Jeanne Judd says:

WE filed a clam and was told we had 26 shares . We have not heard anything sense that time Where do we stand?

      ADMIN – Hi Doug,

      This is the latest update:
Good news! On May 1, 2017, after nearly three years of delays due to a series of objections filed by certain “Non-Settling Plaintiffs” and their counsel, the United States District Court for the Central District of California entered its Final Order and Judgment: approving the class action settlement as fair, adequate and reasonable to the Class; approving the award and allocation of attorneys’ fees and costs as set forth in the Courts April 14, 2017 order; approving the service awards to be paid to certain named plaintiffs in amounts set forth in the April 14 order; overruling all objections and otherwise dismissing the class claims. Barring any appeals, the first settlement distribution checks will be made in mid-June, 2017. As you will recall from the Notice, the settlement distribution is to be paid in four annual installments, as opposed to in one lump sum. In turn, the second, third and fourth installment checks will be distributed on the same anniversary date in 2018, 2019 and 2020. Please note that the distribution of settlement proceeds will be subject to further delay if any party who timely objected elects to appeal the Court’s Order approving the settlement to the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.

  20. Chris Cordova says:

Hi there, please advise if you have a list of claimants who qualify to receive monies from this law suit and an amount.

    Thanks

    ADMIN – Hi Chris,

I am not the administrator of this settlement therefore I do not have a list.

  21. Norman Wimer says:

    Good work !

  22. Arthur and Sonya Peterson says:

    Hello,
Sorry, but we did not receive a class action notice. I have a Norcold 1200 model and have sent the postcard that Norcold has sent out and have not heard back from them. I decided to look up for a class action suit and found this online. I did not know that this was out there or a deadline. We bought this motorhome a few years ago and it has one of the refrigerator. Any help for us?

    ADMIN – Hi Arthur,

None that we can offer. Sorry.

  23. Sue says:

We lost a Norcold refrige in 2015 due to corrosion in the gas line. Luckily we were in RV at time, so we turned off unit. Repairman said to purchase new unit. We filed a timely claim, with proof of purchase of new refrige. We have not heard anything. Checking the class action suit phone number or the Internet class action site does tell what is happening. Someone please post a phone number that will explain when to expect a check .

  24. Russell stevens says:

I have returned all paper work twice in 2016. I was notified by a card telling me I have one of the problem Norfolk unites . I registered on line as well as standard mail and as of today have not herd a thing.

    ADMIN – Hi Russell,

Proper escalation when trying to figure out the status of a settlement is to first contact the class action administrator. If that fails try to reach out to class counsel. The information for class counsel is printed in the long notice.

  25. Renee says:

What day in June will payments be processed?

    ADMIN – Hi Renee,

I don’t think it will be in a single day. Distributions take multiple days.

  26. Paris says:

According to a claimant via another site, Norcold is in the process of conducting random audits. This person was told to they need to provide documentation (proof of vehicle registration for the RV or Boat) no later than 6/29/2017 or claim will be denied. Distribution may not happen until mid-July. They posted a copy of the full text of the email from the Norcold Administrator.

    • Speedway says:

Paris u might be right .it might takes years.when they settle,it takes forever to get a check from any rebates and class action settlement..we cannot even find out about june 5,2017 wen hair settlement.tell me what is the point of an administrator what he is saying about settlement we can find that out on line.people files appeals just because they can for no reason.

      ADMIN – Hi Speedway,

Individuals file appeals because they feel strongly that a settlement is not fair to them or to the class. You will find out about WEN when public records of the hearing are released, until then we all wait patiently.

As anyone received their first annual installment check yet?

  30. Amber says:

    June 21, 2017 UPDATED
    Dear Class Member:
As Class Counsel for the settlement class, we wanted to provide you an update of where things currently stand with regard to the settlement and distribution of the settlement funds to those who filed timely claims.
The Effective Date was June 1, 2017 and we expect checks to go out on schedule 45 days from the Effective date or by July 17, 2017.
A little background – on May 1, 2017, after nearly three years of delays due to a series of objections filed by certain “Non-Settling Plaintiffs” and their counsel, the United States District Court for the Central District of California entered its Final Order and Judgment: approving the class action settlement as fair, adequat3 and reasonable to the Class; approving the award and allocation of attorneys’ fees and costs as set forth in the Courts April 14, 2017 order; approving the service awards to be paid to certain named plaintiffs in amounts set forth in the April 14 order; and otherwise dismissing the class claims. Barring any appeals, the first settlement distribution checks will be made in mid-June, 2017. As you will recall from the Notice, the settlement distribution is to be paid in four annual installments, as opposed to in one lump sum.
As Final Judgment was entered on May 1, 2017, the Effective Date passed on or about June 1, 2017 (Settlement Agreement Section I, Paragraph A (34)) and payments will now be made in accordance with the schedule set forth in the Settlement Agreement (Section IV, Paragraphs D(1)(i)(ii) and D(2)(i)-(iii)).
The First Installment is scheduled to be paid on July 15, 2017, or the next business day.
The Second Installment is scheduled to be paid on July 1, 2018, or the next business day.
The Third Installment is scheduled to be paid on July 1, 2019, or the next business day.
The Fourth and Final Installment is scheduled to be paid on July 1, 2020, or the next business day.
Each installment payment will not be equal, but rather will be paid according to the formula set forth in Section IV, Paragraphs D(1)(i)(ii) and D(2)(i)-(iii)) of the Settlement Agreement.
We understand that the settlement progress in this case has been slow and frustrating for you at times. We thank you for your continued patience and understanding.
We hope this answers some questions you may have about the distribution date. We will update the settlement website (www.norcoldclassaction.com) as soon as further developments occur. Please check that website regularly for further updates.
    Thank you,
    Hart Robinovitch
    Class Counsel

    ADMIN – Hi Randy,

Have not heard anything about Canada.

  34. Larry Hanes says:

I received a check for the first installment on July 22, 2017. When will the three-year warranty extension be sent; what is the initial date of the extended warranty for current owners of the product?

You can email the admin to NorcoldClassAction@kccllc.com they will help you with additional info.

  35. Kevin Bryant says:

I still have not received my check

    ADMIN – Hi Kevin,

Telling me won’t help you at all. You need to contact the class action administrator.

  36. Leigh says:

I received my check yesterday. It was dated July 17th. The stub said it was the first of four annual installments.

  37. Robert Smith says:

I received the settlement check on 7/24/17. Two separate claims were filed because we have two refrigerators in our RV (inside and in an outside kitchen) that meet the class action criteria. Claim Form Receipts were issued with different claim numbers. Will I receive a separate payment for the second claim? The check I received shows a claim number for one only.

    ADMIN – Hi Robert,

If you had evidence for two claims you will most likely receive two checks.

  38. Melanie says:

    I received my 1st of 4 checks

  39. Lorraine Williams says:

My cooling unit has gone out again. I am part of the 1200 series. What can I do?

    ADMIN – Hi Lorraine,

    Have you called customer service?

  40. Alphonso Williams says:

I had two different claims with two separate claim numbers. We have only received one check. There is no telephone number I can call. Will I be getting the second claim check.

  41. Lorraine Williams says:

My cooling unit has gone out. It is part of the 1200 series. What can I do to get help with getting it repaired?

    ADMIN – Hi Lorraine,

Did you file a claim in a timely manner?

  42. paul says:

    ADMIN – I received someone else’s check.

I verified my current address on the claims website and it is correct.

I contacted the claims administrator but had NO response.

    ADMIN – Hi Paul,

    Reach out to class counsel.

  43. Christine Wood says:

Wow I received a check for $45.78. What the hell am I supposed to do with that?

    ADMIN – Hi Christine,

    Cash it?

  44. Joclynne BYers says:

Hello! I filed a claim and did not receive anything . No notice no check nothing.

    ADMIN – Hi Joclynne,

When we file a claim and fail to receive monies we are to contact the class action administrator to follow up.

  45. Robert Smith says:

I emailed the administrator about whether two checks would be issued if you have two separate claims. No answer was ever received. Has anyone received two payments for multiple claims? Both met the class action criteria since they are the same exact refrigerators. I got one check but that’s all. No info is available when you call the number provided. They need to update their phone messages to reflect current issues.

  46. Kathleen Head says:

I too never heard one word for my 12101M BTUM 2400 Unit in my 2011 Carrie Lite Carriage, which as of now I have had to even replace the part that cost me just over $2,200.00 besides the Cooling Unit.

I don’t think this is right at all. Respond then hear nothing.

    ADMIN – Hi Kathleen,

Have you tried contacting the admin and/or class counsel? Leaving messages here does not get you anywhere.

  47. JOHN STRABLE says:

No check. No reply from web site? What is going on? Should I contact “Zimmer/Reed” Lawyers for the plantifs?

    ADMIN – Hi John,

    I would

  48. Robert Smith says:

It’s about time claimants bombarded the attorneys in this case to ask why there is never any response from the administrator of this class action. We have sent numerous requests for information to the administrator and have never received any sort of reply at all. No information regarding the settlement has been updated on the website. We have followed the guidelines for requesting information, but never hear anything. Specifically, we asked whether we’d receive a second check for the second refrigerator unit in our RV. Both met the criteria but we only got one payment on that claim number. The separate claim has never been addressed.

    ADMIN – Hi Robert,

    That sounds super frustrating.

  49. Robert Smith says:

Still no reply from the administrator of the class action. Today we sent an email to Zimmer/Reed Lawyers for the plaintiffs to ask that they intercede on the claimants’ behalf. Any idea what to do beyond this? Do we contact the Federal Consumer agency for their help?

    ADMIN – Hi Robert,

After class counsel you can always reach out to the FTC

    • Dorothy says:

I received one of my checks, but have moved to another state since then .Having trouble as to where to send my new address to because I do not remember my conformation number.

      ADMIN – Hi Dorothy,

Write to the class action administrator and provide them with as much info about yourself to allow him to find your records and let him know that you changed address. Make sure your letter is certified.

  50. JACK G WIILSON says:

I read about the Norcold Class Action suit with interest and frustration. Last week, my 1999 Foretravel U320 burned while in storage with ground power due to an apparent fire originating from the base of the Dometic 2 door factory installed refrigerator. i am the second owner since 2005. Neither Foretravel or Norcold notified me of any such recalls and/or advisement though Foretravel Corporation has my registered name and I am a member of their Motor Club. Only insurance was liability coverage. Any advice regarding entitlements pertaining to details of the suit?

    ADMIN – Hi Jack,

Once a deadline has passed you don’t have much in the way of legal recourse. I encourage you to follow our page that way you will not miss the most important settlements for all manner of consumer goods.

  51. Jo Ann Brockway says:

  56. William B Rhodes says:

I filed a claim in the subject class action suit and received the first of four payments in August 2017. The problem is that we moved in April 2017, and I did not pay careful attention to whether the check came directly to our NEW address in California, MD 20619 or was forwarded by USPS from the OLD address in Leonardtown, MD 20650. In addition, I stupidly misplaced my assigned claim ID number.

Realizing that the checks are being sent in one-year increments, I want to ensure that you have the correct address for me on file.

    ADMIN – Hi William,

Send a certified letter with a change of address to the class action administrator.

  57. william says:

Hi, I got one of the checks, but I moved. I just emailed NorcoldClassAction@kccllc.com and updated my address. When will 2nd check go out?

    ADMIN – Hi William,

The class action administrator will be best qualified to provide you that info.

  58. Kristie says:

Has anyone have any updates on when we will receive settlement checks?

  59. Tiffany says:

Does anyone know how long the settlement check is good for? Was wondering if it had an expiration date on the check, thank you.

    ADMIN – Hi Tiffany,

    Never more than 90 days.

    • Tiffany says:

Thank you. We were traveling and I could not remember if it was sixty or ninety days….we are traveling and won’t get our mail till September.

We own a 2009 Winnebago built in 2008. We have had problems with the refrigerator on several occasions over the last ten years, most recently this spring and summer when we spent over $3,000 first for new fans and then for a new cooling unit. Now it’s not working properly again. Just today we learned of this class action suit. Strange that we were never notified since we ordered this unit new off the production line.

    ADMIN – Hi Marcia,

Just keep visiting our website. You will always find settlements relevant to you and the products you love.

Hi, Roger. Thanks for your message, and sorry to hear that. However, we (classactionrebates.com) are *not* the settlement/claims administrator of this case — we are only an online “newspaper” of various class action settlements involving various companies. Please check the settlement website for any updates on the issue, and/or contact the Settlement Administrator directly, if you haven’t already done so. The details are stated above; just scroll up. Thank you, and best of luck.

  75. Rhonda Douglas says:

My yearly settlement check is lost or stolen. It was said it would be delivered on 7/7/2020 but I haven’t gotten it yet. How do I report it lost or stolen in mail?
