Purchasers of two of more eligible Norton products between October 1, 2005 and May 23, 2012 made in the United States.

Eligible products include (you needed to purchase two or more of these):

  • Norton AntiVirus
  • Norton Internet Security
  • Norton 360
  • Norton Personal Firewall
  • Norton SystemWorks

AND

  1. purchased a first Norton product on the list above, and
  2. enrolled in Norton’s automatic renewal payment for that product, and
  3. purchased (or renewed) a second Norton product on the list above either during the term of your subscription for the first product or within 60 days after being charged an automatic renewal charge for the first product, and
  4. installed the second product on the same computer as the first product, and
  5. have not received a refund of the automatic renewal charge

Case Name: Marolda v. Symantec Corp., Case No. 08-5701 (EMC)
Case Summary: The plaintiff brought a lawsuit about Symantec (Norton’s owner) automatic renewal program. The plaintiff bought an upgrade to the Norton their anti-virus subscription and claims that there was no disclosure that they needed to cancel the automatic renewal of the original product. Symantec denies the allegation. Before the court heard the case the two sides settled.
