Class Eligibility

Class members include all individuals who purchased Playstation Vita and before June 12 2012 and did not return it for a full refund.

Required as Follows:

  • A store receipt showing the purchase was made before 06/12/12 or,
  • A side panel of the PlayStation Vita package that shows the UPC code, SERIAL or SIRIS numbers; or
  • Other information and materials that reasonably prove the consumer is an eligible purchaser of the PlayStation Vita before June 1, 2012.

Case Summary

According to the FTC Sony engaged in deceptive advertising of the PlayStation Vita. This is a false advertisement settlement where the consumer has the option to return the device for a full return. According to the terms of the settlement the device was to have close-save capabilities allowing users to freeze the way and pick it up at a later time. This capability was non-existent on the device
