Remington Rifle Defective Trigger Class Action Settlement

Class Eligibility

Members of this settlement include individuals who have owned a own a Remington firearm that has a trigger mechanism that is made with a component called a “trigger connector” and some models that are made with an X-Mark Pro trigger mechanism, including:

  • Current owners of Remington Model 700, Seven, Sportsman 78, 673, 710, 715, 770, 600, 660, XP-100, 721, 722, and 725 firearms containing a Remington trigger mechanism that utilizes a trigger connector
  • Current owners of Remington Model 700 and Model Seven rifles containing an X-Mark Pro trigger mechanism manufactured from May 1, 2006 to April 9, 2014 who did not participate in the voluntary X-Mark Pro product recall prior to April 14, 2015
  • Current and former owners of Remington Model 700 and Model Seven rifles who replaced at their own cost their rifle’s original Walker trigger mechanism with an X-Mark Pro trigger mechanism

Voucher or repair

  • You can have the trigger mechanism retrofitted with a new X-Mark Pro or another connectorless trigger mechanism.
  • Or you can get a voucher code that is redeemable at Remington’s online store to purchase additional Remington products.
  • You may also obtain a refund if they already paid to have the trigger mechanism replaced with an X-Mark Pro trigger mechanism.
  • In addition to the benefit selected by the claimant he or she will also receive a DVD intended to provide education about firearm safety practices

Case Summary

The lawsuit alleges certain Remington rifles had trigger defects that resulted in discharges

The settlement applies to the following guns: Remington Model 700, Seven, Sportsman 78, 673, 710, 715, 770, 600, 660, XP-100, 721, 722, and 725 firearms that contain a trigger mechanism that uses a trigger connector.

Additionally current and former owners of Model 700 and Model Seven rifles who had their rifle’s original Walker trigger mechanism replaced with an X-Mark Pro trigger mechanism may also benefit from this class action settlement.

The defendant fully denies all wrongdoing but has agreed to settle to avoid the costs and uncertainty associated with lengthy litigation.
