Elisabeth Martin v. Monsanto Company,Case No. 5:16-cv-02168 District Court for the Central District of California
Case Summary
Settlement resolves a class action lawsuit pending in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri (the “Court”) against Monsanto Company, the manufacturer of the above two concentrated Roundup® products. The lawsuit alleges that Monsanto advertised these Roundup® products as making more spray solution than the products were capable of making. Monsanto denies these allegations and any wrongdoing. The two sides disagree on what relief, and how much, could have been won, if any, if the Class won at trial. The Settlement avoids costs and risks to you from continuing the lawsuit, provides relief to affected persons like you, and releases Monsanto and others from liability for the related claims.

This ridiculous why lie to people who wanna protect bugs from there house.
ADMIN – Hi Byron,
As a fellow gardener I am also upset.
It’s a weed killer not a bug killer
roundup isn’t for bugs
I still got bugs after I spray twice.
ADMIN – Hi Deloris,
Roundup is a herbicide not a pesticide. I am not surprised you still had bugs. It is not designed or intended to kill bugs.
Maybe she has crabs.
ADMIN – Hi Steven,
Did you mean crabgrass? I am sure that is what you meant.
hahaha good one
Herbicides are pesticides, they’re for plants not insects .
ADMIN – Hi Brian,
Herbicides are pesticides?????
Yes. Herbicides are for plant pests. Insecticides are for insect pests. Does anyone make an “-icide” for lawyers and politicians?
ADMIN – Hi Keno,
If you find out if there is such product please let us know. I does have to be selective because in all groups there are always decent people.
A “ocide” for lawyers, etc would be homicide. I’m only kidding. I don’t have cable, but antenna. On the “Grit” station, there is a advertising from one or more attorneys wanting your business to file a claim against Bayer for their part in manufacturing this chemical. In their commercials, they don’t tell the claimants that the attorneys take from 40% to 60% from your settlement. I
I bought roundup during the allotted period and am part of this suit…please let me know what to do to file a claim. I bought about 4 bottles.
ADMIN – Hi Tara,
Click on the link to file a claim.
LOL
This “bugs” me. Can someone just “Exterminate’ the problem here?
ADMIN – Hi Lisa,
We can’t. This is all about weeds.

ADMIN – Hi Carlo,
File using the link provided.
Yeah, I bought a $109 jug of this and it was suppose to make up to 85 gallons and if you used the right amount then it did a very horrible job at killing weeds. It was so bad that I just bought the cheap stuff Lowes had on sale and while I had to use a lot more of that per gallon of water, I was still saving more than the expensive roundup I bought.
ADMIN – Hi Andrew,
Hopefully you have already filed your claim.
Makes sense on why it didn’t work. I bought many jugs of this. And finally purchased preen to help with weeds. Ugg such a waste of money. I’ll never buy roundup again.
ADMIN – Hi Rachael,
This has to do with yield and not efficacy. When properly diluted this is still a great herbicide.
if we are four adults in same address and family, can we all file differenty ?
ADMIN – Hi Om,
Most houses have one yard and a principal person that engages in garden-related purchases. If you in fact had four family members purchase the herbicide and specially if you have evidence of purchase there is no reason why you should not file that way. In the other hand if you are asking me how to maximize the opportunity to get a slice of the cake in ways that may not be necessarily ethical I would consider that multiple claims from the same address may be seen as duplicates or attempt to defraud.
ADMIN – Hi Ralph,
Your comment has been moderated due to inappropriate content.
I was so upset when I found out the truth as I have well water. I only chose Round-Up because it said it was safe…never again now I use vinegar and dish liquid. They should have to pay a lot more money and maybe some jail time…otherwise it’s just a write off to them and doesn’t hurt them a bit.
Is roundup toxic if a bird drinks it?
ADMIN – Hi Hancock,
The customer service line for Roundup is 1-866-324-2647
I purchased the container that makes 85 gallons ,I was lucky if I got 65 gals.
ADMIN – Hi Randy,
Interesting, How did you determine the dilution ratio?
I thought I’d read the purchase period dates somewhere but can no longer find them. Can you provide the date range for the purchase please?
TIA
ADMIN – Hi Cyndi,
You read it on the main page.
I have used Roundup since 1999, I live in the country on almost 2 acres, it seemed like I was always having to spray every couple of weeks somewhere to control weeds… I finally switched to a different brand of weed control, about 5 years ago I developed a form of Leukemia which makes me wonder if this was caused from this product. I have placed a settlement claim.
ADMIN – Hi Stewart,
This settlement has nothing to do with cancer. It is about a product not delivering the level of concentration offered.
I bought the 35.2 oz of concentrate last year. Didn’t make very much solution.
ADMIN – Hi Arthur,
That is why there is a settlement. How about you file your claim?
What is the time frame?
ADMIN – Hi Leona,
It is different in every state. Please click on the link to the settlement and head to the main page.
Time frame of purchase dates.
ADMIN- Hi Leona,
Refer to the official page which hosts a list by state
I used it a lot for people’s driveway again kill bugs
ADMIN – Hi William,
The product is not designed to kill bugs.
I purchased several bottles of this product and It did not work I ended up going old fashioned pouring bleach on the problem and pulling up by hand
ADMIN – Hi Calvin,
I use vinegar myself. Less harsh than bleach.
I bought Concentrate Plus 64 oz. of roundup…waste of time.
ADMIN – Hi Marty,
This has nothing to do with the efficacy of the product. It has to do with the yield of the concentrate.
Use the product three to four times weeds just kept coming back very disappointed in it
ADMIN – Hi Frank,
Happens when the instructions for the ratio to dilute are overstated. File a claim.
I dnt have receipts, but i do my house and my 85 year young mothers house, how do i file For both property’s? Thank you
ADMIN – Hi Dave,
You file using the link provided and completing the information as requested. There is an option for no receipt.
rain washed the product out before taking action
ADMIN – Hi Carl,
I believe the bottle suggests that you don’t use it when rain is expected.
Still had bugs after use
ADMIN – Hi Russell,
It does not surprise us that you had bugs after a RoundUp application. This product is a herbicide not an insecticide.
Waste of money. It killed my roses too.
ADMIN – Hi Marty,
Weird you say that since the settlement is about the product not being strong enough when diluted.
what date was the latest you could have purchased the product to qualify for this.
ADMIN – Hi Sean,
There is a table on the official page that lists eligibility dates by state.
It literally didn’t do anything
ADMIN – Hi Michael,
That is a shame. File a claim if you feel you are a member of the class.
I BOUGHT CONCENTRATE 64 ounce of round up
IT LITERALLY DID NOTHING
I bought
Super concentrate 128
for $105.85
and $53
Added water IT DID NOTHING ….
Still had those annoying bugs
ADMIN – Hi A Behrens,
How about you try a pesticide next time?
I bought this for my ex wife so she could spray around her house did not work as well as claimed!!!
ADMIN – Hi Gene,
You are terribly generous to your ex. Hopefully someone kept the receipt so you can file.
It didn’t work out for me
ADMIN – Hi Ladrenna,
That is terrible news. Do you otherwise meet the requirements to be a member of the class?
I purchased 4 gallons from Wal-Mart for 22.95 each. Then the next month 4 more. Well it didn’t do the job it’s supposed to do. My yard still looks like a jungle and still full of poison ivy. I’m on a fixed income and it hurts tospend
ADMIN – Hi Martha,
Be sure to file your claim
I want to file
ADMIN – Hi Tiffanie,
Go for it.
I was wondering why it didn`t work.I bought 2 gallons from ace hardware for $22.95.
ADMIN – Hi Derek,
This seems to resolve the mystery.
I’ve bought several gallons of this product thinking it would do the job, but didn’t. I ended up letting true green come out and fixing the problem now I’m in the hole for spending a lot of money on yard stuff!
ADMIN – Hi Tonya,
It sounds like you are a member of the class.
I did purchase this herbicide
It was expensive
ADMIN – Hi Judith,
Hopefully you already took the time to file your claim.
I baught this stuff at home depo an it spilled in are barn now we aint got no barn no more. My brother gonna build a barn
ADMIN – Hi Tom,
The stuff destroyed your barn?
is there anyway at all to file a claim now like tonight, march 7th-march 8th? i havent looked on here in a while but i was infact a person that would be very interested in doing this because of how much i have bought and used of this stuff in the dates mentioned. also what is the limit i seen a comment that said 20 units per household only asking because im going through receipts and have more than a few already so i was wanting to know. thank you in advance
ADMIN – Hi Anthony,
No
I bought four (1) one gallon jugs of concentrate Round up for my yards, both front and back. I bought them at Home Depot for $105.85 each for a total of 423.40 PLUS TAX. I spayed both yards at the beginning of last spring to cut down on the weed growth. I did not file a claim because I did not know I would be reimbursed but the concentrate was very expensive. I want to know if I will get reimbursed for at least some of the expenditure.
ADMIN – Hi Sarah,
I am sorry you did not file a claim.
I purchased 4 gallons from Walmart and I noticed that over the months nothing was working so I purchased some more from Home Depot and I noticed that it wasn’t working as well I will no longer spend anymore money on this product but someone needs to do something about it because this product is not effective
ADMIN – Hi Shakiya,
Hopefully you already filed your claim.
I bought 4 bottle of the roundup and it never work
ADMIN – Hi Clifford,
That is the very reason for the settlement.
Bleach Cleaner from $ store works just as well as killing weeds as this stuff!
IT KILLED THE WEED AND MADE BIG DRY SPOTS IN MY LAWN I WAS NOT SATISFIED AT ALL 😡😡
ADMIN – Hi Roger,
The purpose of herbicides is to kill weeds.
bought 2 bottles and never worked
ADMIN – Hi Ryan,
The way I read the settlement this product does work. The problem is that it does not offer as much coverage once diluted as promised.
Round-up never worked well for me. I sprayed dandelions that grew in the cracks of my driveway and was the satisfied with the results
Used roundup concentrate the bugs came in my house so it alveolus did not work.
ADMIN – Hi Grace,
Next time buy a pesticide.
I still have bugs after I use the product
ADMIN – Hi Paula,
The product is a weed killer, not a bug killer.
I am a suffer from autoimmune and they Drs at UCLA it was probably exposure to round up
ADMIN – Hi Marlis,
Did you work in agriculture?
my husband is also suffering from an autoimmune and doctors told him the same thing. He’s a landscaper.
ADMIN – Hi Kim,
This settlement has nothing to do with health issues.
Yes, I worked in AG.
product caused health issues
ADMIN – Hi TT,
This has nothing to do with health issues. This settlement was the result of a concentrated product that did not work as promised when diluted to the ratio recommended on the packaging.
Used it for many years while working at a Military base no health issues that i know of yet we used to kill weeds on the base
ADMIN – Hi Steve,
This settlement is not about health issues. It is about product performance.
Ps
i really didnt kill on 1st spray we had to redo several times
ADMIN – Hi Steve,
Hopefully you submitted your claim
I bought the 110.95 concentrate and it was a complete ripoff diidnt kill to the root as claimed.
When are you going to make this right.
ADMIN – Hi Darrin,
We can’t make it right, we are not the manufacturer.
Went to an old hardware store and found an old
Bottle of Paraquat and it did better job of killing the weeds I wanted dead.
ADMIN – Hi Darrin,
Thanks for sharing you approach.
Dear ADMIN – Just wanted to say thank you for posting the information of this class action. I run a business and have purchased over FIFTY of the large 128oz Super Concentrate during the period stated. I have all of my saved receipts for tax purposes so I was able to legit file for the max 20 units a few months ago. I doubt I would have ever known about this suit without your website, so thank you very much for providing this service. One question I do have, do you have any idea when payments will be made, assuming it does get to that point? I realize you have no affiliation with any of the class action suits that you post on here. I just figured you might have a better idea of the “average time” it takes for class actions to actually pay out. Anyway, thank you very much again. You should have a paypal “donate” button, or even a patreon so that people can support you and help pay for your web hosting costs (and your time!).
Cheers,
Al

Did you file your online claim?
Any update on this?
ADMIN – Hi Myst,
