A.B., et.al. v. The Regents of the University of California, et al.,
Case No. 2:20-CV-09555,
United States District Court
for the Central District of California
Plaintiffs claim that Dr. James Heaps sexually assaulted, violated, harassed, and offended his female patients, during various time frames between January 1, 1983 and June 28, 2018, when said doctor offered gynecological and obstetric services at specific UCLA medical facilities. Plaintiffs also claim that UCLA supervisors and administrators (otherwise known as “Regents”) were continually informed of Dr. Heaps’s misdemeanors but failed in taking the necessary protective precautions towards his patients.
