Class Eligibility

You are a Class Member of this class if you are a current or former Verizon Wireless account holder and believe unauthorized Premium SMS charges from third parties may have been placed on your Verizon Wireless telephone bill(s) since July 1, 2010.

Varies. Verizon Wireless account holders may be entitled to receive a refund for unauthorized and previously un-refunded Premium SMS charges incurred since July 1, 2010, provide that the current or former account holder satisfies all three of the following requirements:

  • The current or former account holder electronically submits or postmarks a Claim Form by Dec. 31, 2015;
  • The current or former account holder has not already been fully refunded according to Verizon’s billing records; and
  • The current or former account holder attests that the charges were not authorized.

NOTE: Former account holders may not receive a refund if the total refund due is $3 or less.

    I filed for a refund on this settlement o Sept. 11, 2105….well before the December deadline. I never received a check……how can I find out if and when they were mailed? I have my claim number and confirmation of claim form. The settlement website is no longer up, and the phone number provided no longer works.

    So you’re saying that even if we have a claim number and confirmation of filing the claim but have not received anything from the suit, that we’re out of luck cause the website is down?

    The website is not down. It is permanently shut. Usually at this point the leftover funds are given to charity or directed to the state treasury as unclaimed funds. You can certainly try calling class counsel but it my experience you are not going to get anywhere.

    I never received my refund and submitted my claim form on time. I have a claim number 1EBEEE36E6. I have been a Verizon Wireless customer for 22 years and did not receive a credit or check. What is the story on non payment for the lawsuit?

    This was paid a long time ago. If your settlement was for less than three dollars you probably did not receive a thing.

    Well why do we file claims and we are owed refunds and it is lower than what they want to send, even file a claim? I never received my money either. I’ve been holding onto a piece of paper waiting for a payout.
    I should file another lawsuit for nonpayment to all of us owed who did qualify for $3.00 or less and get more.

    Generally a class action settlement is published in newspapers and the admin sends personal snail mail notifications.

    I filed a timely claim on this too for the flat $40 claim and never received a check?…I have my account number and pin number too? I wonder how many others never got a payment….disgruntled !!!

    It is best to constantly track our mail with informed delivery and follow our Facebook pager that way you can escalate settlements in a timely fashion.

    When the class action administrator stops answering the phone is usually an indicator that the monies have been redirected to secondary, distribution, pointed to charity or sent to the state treasury.
